In December 2010 Elizabeth Pacey won the Travelport Instructor of the Year award. Elizabeth’s students nominated her for this prestigious award, praising her "exceptional industry knowledge" and "the genuine care and patience she has for her students."
This award represents a huge personal achievement for Elizabeth and speaks volumes for the esteem in which travel courses delivered at Martin College are held.
Elizabeth’s student Ashleigh Murphy was also nominated for the Galileo Travelport 'Agent of the Future' award - an accomplishment she credits to her teacher: "Martin College should feel privileged to have a teacher like Elizabeth. I am so glad that I had Elizabeth as a teacher because she taught us the entire Galileo Package (Galileo Desktop Professional and Cross Check Travel – programs which are used in the travel industry). This has given us industry knowledge and skills so that we are job ready.
Along with this, after talking to the other finalists and a few teachers, I discovered that no other colleges help their students with job placements like Martin College does. Elizabeth has used her own personal contacts to secure us jobs within the industry. I am commencing employment at a corporate travel agency in the New Year, which would not have been at all possible without the help of Elizabeth.
