You are welcome to come to the campus before you start your study to pay fees, apply for recognition of prior learning and to receive your study timetable.
It is essential that you come to the orientation sessions for your course. These sessions provide valuable information about your course and also let you meet your teachers and other students in the course as well as getting to know your way around the campus.
Please see the orientation schedule for your campus >>>You will generally be in classes with around 25 students, though class sizes may vary. Many, but not all, students will be local Australian students and Martin College also attracts students from all over the world. Students come from Europe, South America, Japan, Korea and a range of other countries. For any student who plans an international career when they graduate, this is a great opportunity to experience life in an internationalised environment.
You will need to allow for the cost of textbooks if you want to purchase textbooks for your course. Depending on the length of your course the costs will range from A$100 to A$300. For some courses you may be able to purchase second-hand books from former students at a lower cost. The textbooks are also available in the library, but demand for these is high and you cannot expect to be able to use only the library copy of the text.
Graphic Design students will need to purchase an art kit for around A$250.
As a progressive educational institution, Martin College makes much of its teaching material available via the internet through a program called Web CT. You will receive your student password for Web CT during the orientation week.
As a Martin College student you will receive a weekly quota of free internet use. Limited printing facilities are available but, in the interests of the environment, we encourage you not to print material unless it is necessary.
Study at Martin College is not like high school as there are many different classes running at the same time. Every student will receive a personalized timetable at the beginning of their course. It is essential that you come to the orientation sessions to receive your timetable. Usually we will provide you with a timetable which shows you the classes you will be taking for the following 5 weeks.
You will need to be prepared to attend classes Monday-Friday. The actual times you will be required to attend class will be given to you in your timetable on commencement at Martin College.
You need to pay your fees either in full or by instalment by the first day of your course.
You must make full payment of your fees to receive a confirmation of enrolment. You must have a confirmation of enrolment to start your classes.
Have you already taken some courses somewhere else or have work experience which may be directly relevant to your course which may exempt you from some courses?

Internship opportunities are available to you during your study at Martin College however your internship must be planned at the beginning of your time at Martin College. You need to tell us at the beginning of your time at Martin College that you would like to do an internship and there is an additional fee for the internship placement.
