Student Ambassadors hold a range of roles and responsibilities although their primary role is to represent Martin College through a variety of on and off campus activities. They reflect on college life from their own personal experiences.
Why Do Students Become Student Ambassadors?
A wide range of students become Student Ambassadors for various reasons. Some join the program because they enjoy their experience at Martin College and want to promote the college to others so they can enjoy the educational experience that Martin College offers while others want to take a position within their student body where they are able to develop their skills in written and verbal communication and leadership. While some join because they are interested in learning new skills in social networking, presentation and influencing others. Some Student Ambassadors join as it is a fun way to meet new people and they are able to assist potential students with any questions they may have and support them through the challenges of choosing an educational pathway.
What are some of the Responsibilities of Student Ambassadors?
Student Ambassadors have a variety of responsibilities, assisting with campus tours, Martin College events, representing the college at Career Markets and Expos as well as visiting high school to share of their experiences. They participate in social media, and communicate with perspective students and families as well as the current student cohort. Student Ambassadors communicate through the web, create videos and post them on social media platforms, and maintain student blogs.
Student Ambassadors have to be able to adapt to situations quickly when dealing with people, and be able to effectively communicate in a variety of ever changing situations. They effectively promote the college through their outstanding professionalism and ability to establish meaningful relationships with people they meet.
The most important responsibility of the Student Ambassadors is to have fun, enjoy what they are doing while developing skills they will utilise upon graduation.
